“Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it.” Winston Churchill
Previously, we saw how both Mitchell and Martha progressed from denial to action. They are now faced with the task of developing a plan to achieve their goals.
Mitchell is ready to get down to business. “I need to live on 1,200 calories per day. What is a calorie? How many calories do I currently consume? What else should I pay attention to?”
Martha is ready to get down to business. “I make $10,000 per month. I want to save $2,000 per month. That leaves me $8,000. I need $5,000 for rent. I wonder what I am doing with the remaining $3,000?”
Mitchell makes a diet. plan “1,200 calories mean 400 calories per meal. I’ll drink a protein drink in the morning (150 calories) and skip lunch. That leaves me 1,050 calories for dinner. Yeah, I got this.”
Martha makes a budget. “What can I get for $3,000 per month? Cable is $200. That’s the only item I know for sure. I’ll just estimate the rest. Utilities, $100, food $500, entertainment $1,000, clothes $500, car $700, travel. That should do it.”
If we don’t know the facts of our past, we cannot take action to change our future. The cycle simply continues.
Poor planning leads to poor results. Mitchell and Martha needed the help of an expert. Most people are afraid to ask for help or do not know who to turn to.
I am here to help.
